• Critical thought – rather than simply describing try to think about what you are
reading and researching and justify your points using evidence
 Ensure that you refer to the health promotion approaches / models / theories that
we have talked about in the taught sessions.
 Use data and evidence in your critique. Both from the article you are working on
and more widely in journal articles and reports by official bodies e.g World Health
Organisation, NGOs etc. NOT Wikipedia!
 Think about the context of the intervention.
 Does the intervention reach those most in need?
 Does the intervention have potential to decrease health inequalities
